Princess Party

Nathan was invited to a birthday party by one of the little girls in the ward.  She was having a princess party and he was the only boy invited.  We didn't really have any "princely" items to dress him up in but a friend had a nice red cape.  We did his hair up and put on his cape and he happily went off to the party where he had a wonderful time and danced with all the princesses.  My only concern was that on the way there, Carson told Nathan that the best part of being a prince is that at the end of all of the stories that the prince gets to kiss the princess!  I warned him that there should be no kissing or there would be problems when he got home!

In the end, the best part to the party, in my mind is that he always talks about his princess party, emphasis on the his, and how much fun he had!

So very tired....

The boys climbed up on the bed after the tub to watch a quick show.  Nathan was apparently so tired that he fell asleep watching the show.  He continued to sleep in this position for at least 45 minutes.  We read scriptures and had prayers and the other two went to bed.  I sent the pictures to Clarke to see while he was at work.  He thought I was horribly mean to let him stay there for so long.

First trip to the river

Nathan pulling a stick out to play with.

Jay
The monkeys.

Lady out to get her ball.
One of the things the boys love to do is to go play along the river.  There are multiple shells that Jay and Carson love to smash, trees and bushes along the edge that Carson and Nathan love to fight through.  Most of all though, Lady loves it as she finally gets some much needed exercise and we typically will stay until she is entirely tired out.

Field Trip to the High School

The preschool class walked over to Medicine Hat High School to have the Beauty Culture class do their hair.  They could have their hair done, their nails, and also have their faces painted.  At first Nathan was not very impressed.
Once they got the blue colored gel out he changed his mind a little bit.
Serious again...

The beginning of his moustache!
The final product - nails, face and hair all done.  He seemed to love the complete practice, however, as soon as he got home he asked Claudette to wash his face and his hair but he wanted the nail polish to stay!

Easter Sunday

Jay was up with the sunrise.  He is normally my late sleeper.  He looked horribly tired when he came down and I asked him why he was up so early.  His response, "I am just so excited."   I wish I had it on video though as he didn't even sound remotely excited, until he looked out our back door and could see some of the things that the bunny had brought.  In fact, he went out twice and scoped out the scene, planning how to proceed while his brothers were still sleeping.  Nathan came down next and Jay pointed out some of the fun stuff.  The boys have recently seen the movie, HOP.  If you have seen it, you would understand Nathan's comment: "Look at all the candy the bunny pooped out!"
Uncle Jason lined the boys up for a "pre" egg hunt photo.
Jay lost a shoe and wouldn't stop to put it back on!

Jay found some carrots, with LEGO inside!

I couldn't take pictures fast enough to catch the boys from the front side it seemed.

Nathan went around the whole trampoline picking up Kindersurprise Eggs.
After he got all the way around, he thought he had too many of them so put some back!

He was so excited he just kept telling us to look!

Darn rabbit even hopped all over the trampoline!

As you can make out if you look closely, that rabbit was busy!

Nearing the end, still minus a shoe!

Carson lost his shoe, too.  You can just see it poking out from behind his bucket!

There was even stuff on the playset.
The boys had to eat their breakfast before they could go outside.  We only had time to collect our goodies and then it was time to get dressed for church.  The boys were allowed to pick one thing to take as a treat and then the rest would be split equally when we got home from church.

Uncle Jason was packed and ready to go when we got home from church.  We fixed some lunch for everyone, egg salad sandwiches anyone? and then Grandma & Grandpa left as well and we had a quiet rest of our Easter Sunday.

Easter Saturday...

We started out with a Finnish pancake for breakfast, complete with Splenda for Grandma.  Although there is cream soda in the background, that was not on the menu for breakfast!  Breakfast was completed with whipping cream and berries.  Have I said how much I love my fritatta pan?

We created a Bunny Cake for our dessert.

The bow tie actually ended up with 3 times as many jelly beans and extra licorice on it.  Overall, it was a hit.
Grandma & Grandpa Whitfield and Uncle Jason came to visit for Easter.  Because Uncle Jason has to work on Monday and usually leaves for home during church, we needed to have our Easter meal today.  We had ham, scalloped potatoes, corn, carrots, brussel sprouts, coleslaw and buns.  It was pretty good.  After our yummy and large lunch, Jason & Clarke took some leftovers to the hospital for Gearney and I took some for a lady from church.  I ended up in ER with her for 3 hours as she was in atrial fibrillation and really not feeling well when I got to her home.  When I got home everyone had had supper already and then I got to take Jason to Dr. Prince's office to cut out a lipoma that has been bothering him now for a few years that he decided he needed to do something about now.  We got back just in time to put the boys to bed.  The quiet day turned a bit chaotic!

Easter egg decorating, second go round...

The boys have been excited to decorate eggs again with Uncle Jason.  Jason came down Easter Friday and I had the eggs all boiled and ready to go for the event.  Daddy and Uncle Jason helped the boys do another 30 eggs.
