Uncle Jason & Auntie Carmen's Wedding

The boys were all dressed up and ready to go.  Jay wasn't looking too enthusiastic initially but warmed up as the day went on!

Here we were just waiting for 'the car' to come pick us up.
The wedding occurred at the CP Rail station in downtown Calgary.  I admit I didn't take a ton of pictures as I figured the photographer had it covered.

The boys will probably kill me, but I loved how Mitch & Jake were crying, happy tears!

Nathan giving his Uncle a big hug.

I had the engineer take a picture from the back of the train for me.

The fancy kids table before they sat down and destroyed it!

Jay & Clarke lounging in the train on the trip to Banff.

Carson walking between cars on the train.  There were 11 cars on the train and we could walk through them all.  He went up and down the train more than once.

The Dam, along the way.

The front of the train from a few cars back.  I stood outside enjoying the scenery and taking an occasional picture.

Looking back!

Nathan went up to the bar and asked for a Sprite.  He then told the bar tender that he wanted it spiked!

I think the bar was one of his favourite places on the train!

Looking towards the mountains from the back of the train.

Nathan kept pulling his hat way down over his ears.

The view from the back of the train as we were just inside the park.

Jason's truck beside the train station.

"The boys"

The train parked at the station.

Nathan and Carson welcoming Auntie Carmen to the family.  Jay wasn't keen on the kissing!

Us!

The new family.

If I was good at this I would photoshop out the light standard.  This is looking from the station down the line.
The truck in the mountains.

We ate appetizers and had drinks on the trip out to Banff.  They then turned the train around and we headed back to Calgary.  Supper was served on the way back, and it was spectacular!

They had the speeches scattered through dinner, which was kind of nice.

The boys were given some masks.  Nathan didn't want to put his on, so this is Clarke,  Carson and Jay.

I tried to just get the boys to stand there for me to take a picture but it wasn't working...

I finally tried getting them to walk away.

Carson running back.

The sign off the back of the train with the new couple.

Flash from the past....

A friend sent these pictures of Nathan with her dog, a few years back....

Nathan has always loved dogs.  This was at Pat and Shawn Elliott's trailer the summer that Nathan turned 2.  We had gone back up north for Sheila's wedding.  Pat was the scrub nurse in the OR when I worked in Peace River.  Thanks for the flashback, Pat!

Lax to the Max Tournament

Jay in net.
Medicine Hat has a lacrosse tournament at home.  The boys had 3 games to play in the round robin and ended up playing for bronze.
Jay shaking hands with the High River team.
They have a professional photographer at the tourney.  This was a good shot of Jay and you can see him blocking the ball.  I didn't think it was a $25 shot though and none of the other pictures that could go in a collage were this good.
The screen shot of Carson, the only photo of him that the professional got.  What can I say, he is too speedy to catch on film!
Jay receiving his Bronze medal - he did not stop grinning all day!
The Bronze winners!  The beat the other Medicine Hat team in the bronze medal game.  It was a tough win.

As part of the tourney they have raffles set up.  We spent $10 on ten tickets and I let the boys put the tickets in on whatever prize they wanted.  Jay and Nathan both choose this mini vending machine as a good option, and one of our tickets won.

The haul.  They were so excited to eat all their candy.

Investiture at Cub Scouts

Every year the new cub scouts are invested at a ceremony.  Tonight was Jay's investiture.  In addition to this the boys receive their badges that they have earned for the year.

Piano Recital

Unfortunately I didn't catch his wave to the crowd as he sat down and casually turned through the pages of his book to find his songs.  He is such a ham, and loves being the centre of attention!
After a long school year of practising piano, tonight was the year end recital.  We were a little late because of lacrosse but we made it and here are some pictures to prove it.

Sadly the videos did not turn out the way they should.  You catch a little bit of his attitude here, though!

Rusty

Rusty is now big enough to jump up onto the bed without help.  This isn't necessarily a good thing.  She doesn't jump up unless there is something that she wants though.  This day it was Eeyore.
Rusty graduated from Puppy school.  Trying to get a dog to pose with a mortar on it's head is very interesting to say the least!  Rusty performed well for her 'exam'.  She did things that she had never accomplished at home while practising.  It was a total fluke!

Nathan decided he preferred getting his picture taken with Storm, a German Shepherd in Rusty's class.  We let Rusty & Storm play together one night after class and they chased each other around like no tomorrow.  Nathan is sad that he won't see Storm again and thought we should trade Rusty for Storm.
