Easter Morning - the chaos commences...

Notice the mismatched jammies!

Can I have the candy yet?
After much confusion as to when the bunny comes, the bunny arrived and left all sorts of goodies in the basement.  The computer is having issues though so I can't get the best pictures to upload.  Happy Easter!

Family Home Haircuts

Carson before
Carson after
The boys don't care if I cut their hair and in fact they will race upstairs to the bathroom to get the clippers when it is time for a haircut.  Here are their before and after shots from tonight.  Seeing as it is Monday, I am calling this our FHE! (Clarke was at work)
Jay before and after

Nathan before (the picture taken immediately before was a little iffy - the boys were getting ready to have showers after their hair was cut and Carson got in the picture showing off parts of himself that shouldn't be shown to anyone!)

Nathan after - he was wiggly tonight so I'm not happy with his hair but he is.

Cowboy wannabes...

Carson came downstairs dressed like this.

We have told him numerous times that his jeans need to come down farther when wearing cowboy boots but he is convinced that since he is 5 he needs jeans that have 5 in the waist when he actually wears 6 and 7s most of the time (but those are on days that I put his clothes out for him!)  Anyway, if you look close you will also notice that the shirt is not buttoned properly either.  Uncle Jason thinks that I dress my children like this on purpose.  Not so.  He did this all on his own.
Nathan is pictured in the background and he decided that he too wanted to be a cowboy today.  He put on his jeans and boots and his cowboy belt.  All the boys have belts with buckles from Uncle Jason.  Nathan is sure that it is Uncle Jason on the belt buckles.  He dropped his belt, picked it up, and then informed me that it was "okay, Uncle Jason isn't broken!"
At the Home Show that we went to this afternoon everyone kept commenting on the boys gear and Nathan would happily lift his shirt and stick his belly out for everyone to see "Uncle Jason" which is what he now calls his buckle!  I didn't have the camera with me to get a shot of him and his little belly but it was good for a chuckle from everyone who saw it.

"Popping!!"

This is what Nathan calls it when we make volcanoes with mentos.  I found Diet Coke for $0.87 a bottle this week at the Rexall Drugs.  I bought all they had to make volcanoes.  I showed the bottles to Nathan and asked if he knew what they were for and he went running into the house to get his brothers yelling "popping!  It's time for popping!"

Birthday Cake

So, as per normal, I made myself a birthday cake.  If I didn't no one would.  Now, I personally think if I am making my own cake that I should get to decorate it the way I want.  The boys didn't agree and rather than the coconut pecan icing on my red velvet cake they decided I needed chocolate icing with LOTS of sprinkles.  They were so excited to have some that it wasn't even cool when we had to ice it and then it was their bedtime snack with a little bit of ice cream on the side.  I asked what they thought of the cake and Jay replied, "It's the bees knees!"  I laughed but also made a mental note that maybe they have seen too much of Disney's Princess and the Frog. (I do not have a picture, sad I know but I am sure you can all imagine how 3 boys, the oldest being 5 would decorate a cake!)

Jay's car and the 'piglet' brothers

Jay "driving" while pointing & talking to grandma, describing his car

view from the car's front
At preschool Jay's class built cars out of cardboard boxes.  While telling grandma & grandpa about his car grandma asked if it had headlights.  I quickly explained that lights on the front make it so you can drive at night.  He leaned forward while "in" his car to see the front and responded to grandma's question with, "no, no lights, just letters."  I thought I would hurt myself laughing.  I also love how the kids 'talk' on the phone and try to point and show what they are talking about like the phone is actually a camera.
While Jay was busy with his driving, Nathan and Carson were pretending to be pigs... I don't know why but here is the evidence!
Nathan Piggy
Nathan likes to tell me to take pictures of him when he is being silly.  Today he didn't ask for pictures, I just had to take some.  The nose is off of Jay's piggy bank.
